Daydreaming may not be such a bad thing

All of us have been scolded by a teacher at some point in our lives to "stop daydreaming!".  But despite the conventional wisdom that a wandering mind is a bad thing, it turns out it may be helpful particularly when it comes to creative thinking and making associations between ideas.  So perhaps Gertrude Stein was more right than she knew when she quipped:
"It takes a lot of time to be a genius, you have to sit around so much doing nothing, really doing nothing"
